The video is a presentation on the cultural programme of the Turi Barots held at Sanskruti Kunj in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The Turi Barots are traditional genealogists and are native to the states of Gujarat and Rajasthan. They are also renowned for their traditional songs and dancers. In fact, they are also professional entertainers. The Turi in their name is derived from ‘tur’ which is their traditional form of music. They possess a large repertoire of songs and dances. They have songs like the natya geet, lok geet, marchi nritya geet, mewaro nritya geet, sanedo and maniyaro and have around twenty types of traditional dances. The film takes us from the performance space to a Turi Barot village to better understand their tradition and culture. The programme featured Turi Barot cultural forms like the Mewaro dance, Garba, Marchi dance and the Verari along with a performance by the singer Bharti Barot.
