Cave type
The Early Caityagrḥa is 94 feet 6 inches deep and 41 feet 3 inches wide. The cave has an apsidal hall and 39 pillars that go around the stupa at the nave.
Period
Cave 10 is part of many rock-cut Caityagrḥas made across the Western Deccan in Pitalkhorā and Konḍāṇe in the Early period.
Elements
The porch also had a wooden facade that was fitted into the cave exterior. The ceiling has marks from wooden rafters which once adorned it. The cave has multiple paintings - most of which are covered with soot and shellac layers and further damaged through vandalism.
Patron
Like all Early caves, it was made through collective patronage. An engraving on the Caitya arch speaks of Katahadi, son of Vasithi who had donated the cave facade. Inside the cave, we find another inscription from Bahada Kanhaka who gifted the wall.
