On the right aisle in Cave 17, there are a group of paintings based on stories of Bodhisatva in which he is born as an animal. In these stories, the animals display compassion and kindness towards humans.
An elephant which is trapped and brough to the palace refuses to eat any food. The King finds out that the young elephant was the sole caregiver to his ageing parents. The king releases the elephant who returns to the forest.
