The most common type of bow found at Ajanta consists of a curved stave, the ends of which are tied with a cord.
Used by soldiers and hunters, most bows were made of bamboo, wood or horn.
Bows with the double curve were used by Kings and nobility.
There is only a single depiction of the composite bow. It is made of two separate pieces fixed together to form the bow.
Quivers are cylindrical with tapering side. They were fastened using straps.
They are shown tied to sides of the howdah during a battle sequence.
Some quivers are shown tied to the saddle of horses.
